E-SPORT: NOT A SPORT!

By definition, Sports is an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment. In other words, people compete in various athletic activities. To practice, is needed a physical efforts and skill. By definition eSports is a multiplayer video game played competitively for spectators, typically by professional gamers. What separates the two “sports” is physical exertion”. You don’t move at all when you play eSports but your fingers. When you play football or judo, your whole body is in movement, you make a certain effort and you lose calories because you make a physical effort. Sitting on a chair and playing a war fantasy game isn’t a sport. Even the ‘less athletic’ sports like golf evolves the use of one’s body far more than a game of eSports. Gamers don’t face varying conditions in which they play and the physical requirement is minimal to call the activity “a sport”. The results of the eSports gamers are determined by a computer. The results of your sport activity or competition depend on you and only your physical capacity. Okay, we do regain the technical part of a sport in the electric sports in the way that we need skill: the one and only thing that will determine if the person will take advantage in the game, will win or not. But other than that you don’t take risks, you don’t improve your weight or anything.

So eSports is NOT a sport!
